Leather Break In + Care Tips

Congratulations on your new leather gear! It's time to embrace the journey of breaking in your gear.

First things first, it's important to understand that leather requires a little love and patience. Expect a break-in period of about 1-3 weeks. During this time, your leather will soften and mold to your unique tools.

Now, let’s talk about the proper way to introduce your tools to their new leather sheath. It’s all about the order, my friends!

Picture this: you’re throwing a party, and you want to make sure the guests mingle just right. First up, slide in that trusty flashlight—because who doesn’t need a little light in their life? Next, bring in the multitool or knife (the life of the party, if you will). Just remember, no shoving or pushing! We want a smooth entry, not a wrestling match.

Here are some helpful tips to make the most of the break in process:

1. Leave Tools In Overnight: (for the first few nights) This will help the leather stretch and conform to the shape of the items it will hold.

2. Use As Needed: Don’t be shy! The more you use your leather item, the quicker it will break in. Incorporate it into your daily routine, and let it accompany you on your adventures. The more you use it, the more character it will develop.

3. Have Patience: Breaking in leather is a process that requires a bit of time. It’s important to be patient and allow your accessory to adjust naturally.

Care Tips: condition as needed with your favorite leather conditioner. Your gear has been conditioned prior to shipping. We use this Leather Conditioner

As the seasons change and your lifestyle evolves, don’t forget to give it a little extra love when needed.

Now, here’s the golden rule: DO NOT WET! Seriously, this is a big NO-NO!

And for the love of all things leather, do NOT bake it! (Unless you’re trying to create a new leather-flavored cookie, which I highly advise against.)

Remember, every scratch and mark tells a story, and over time, your leather accessory will become uniquely yours. So, embrace the break-in period and look forward to the beautiful patina that will develop as you continue to use your gear.

Happy breaking in! Your leather gear is on its way to becoming a trusted companion in your everyday life.
